The Reason I Want Us To have An Ongoing, Same Members each week, Cumulative, Multidimensional, strategic, scientific, and spiritual Strategic Recovery Circle
- “Were All Broken, But Were Not Totally F*cked Forever: Things are dystopian, overstimulating, inflating economy, constant 5G smart phones, laptops, plus AI, global instability, political polarity / social matrix polarity / consciousness polarity at all-time highs, the fall of the American Empire and the Rise of the AI Society and Total Surveillance State.”
- “How to survive, get less broken, then thrive, plus transform your identity into someone who lost interest in alcohol – it’s high salience simply dissolved to a low salience – and other resources for achieving the same benefits of alcohol to the same quality or intensity, the number plus the magnitude of the benefits, these resources are plentiful which have much higher salience, value, for providing those subjective physical, emotional, and social perceived and short-term benefits.
- There is primarily one phenomenon that determines who continues to drink, either 24/7 or on and off drinking or bingeing, or who quits permanently, is an individual’s subjective neuro-associations with alcohol.
- It doesn’t matter which of the three pathways to recovery (Clinical, Non-Clinical, Self-Managed) they take. When someone quits for good, they link more negative consequences than positive benefits to alcohol.
- When someone continues to be stuck in 24/7 drinking or on and off segments of the addictive process, they almost invariably link more benefits or approximately equal benefits versus negative consequences.
- What are the possible areas of positive benefits and negative consequences? Physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, financial.
- Think about the possible physical, mental, emotional, social benefits of alcohol, short-term of course.
- Next, think about the possible negative consequences (short and long-term), physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, spiritually, financially, existentially, even cosmically.
- Thus, when I continued to drink daily or on and off binges, I linked a lot of benefits (high quantity + intensity) to alcohol and not as many negative consequences (low quantity + low intensity).
- But the last time I quit over 14 years ago, I rewired my brain fast by unknowingly using high-dose lithium orotate daily, and that fast rewiring combined with my studies in Alcohol & Other Drug Counseling school, combined with intense exercise most days of the week, all rewired my brain, identity, and subjective, plastic, changeable neuro-associations.
- A person’s subjective alcohol neuro-associations is the number one predictor of who quits for good and who still struggles.
- It’s a mechanical, neurological, biological, psychological, social, environmental, and spiritual issue, not a moral one.
- So, in this Recovery Hero’s Journey arc that you’re in, how to rewire your alcohol neuro-associations or how to KEEP them rewired, so alcohol is not a strong or even mild preference anymore, and how to get there using the Strategic Recovery Method.
- An ongoing Recovery Hero’s Journey Transformation Arc Circle who meets once a week to Walk the Path Together, giving each other:
- community

- how to get less broken, survive, and then yes, even thrive, even when the world is falling apart and everyone is fucked.
- The 2030’s will be the U.S. and world’s Renaissance period if things play like out like the Fourth Turning periods of the past.
- We’re in the Fourth Turning, Kaliyuga in Hindu cosmology, the End Times from the Book of Revelation in Christianity, the shift from third to fourth density in the Law of One cosmology, and many other names by other religions, spiritual philosophies, and modern day author / researchers. And the age we’re living through is making recovery much harder to achieve and sustain.
- How, as an intelligent, deep thinker, deep feeler, introspective, maybe even sensitive or empathetic, to navigate staying alcohol-free or getting and staying alcohol-free, in a world that worships alcohol,
- where it’s omnipresent and there’s almost zero friction to access,
- where it’s conditioned into society’s collective and individual minds and promoted with billions of dollars per year by Big Alcohol Corporation and tens of millions per year by lobbyists.
Step 1 – Acknowledge the nuances of this Dystopian Landscape that’s getting worse, not better or even staying the same degree dystopian.
Step 2 – Acknowledge each person’s Starting Position, how they each got there. Identify where they are in their personal Recovery Hero’s Journey. Identify each circle member’s unique situation, past, and goals for the future (30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 1 year, 3-5 years).
Strep 3 – Build the World. Strategic Recovery. 5 Dimensions of Addiction and Recovery (Biochemical, Psychological, Social, Environmental, Spiritual), 5 Phases (Preparation, Detox, Repair, Rewire, Transcend). The 5 Phases are the addiction-to-recovery path and the 5 Pillars are the vehicle, the mind/body/spirit complex (or the self), other selves, the physical, digital, and energetic environments, the 12 Assessments are used to determine how to customize your unique Biochemical, Psychological, Social, Environmental, and Spiritual Dimensions of Recovery. They also help to customize your 5-Phase Recovery Journey from Preparation to Transcend.
Step 4 – Integrate the Strategic Recovery World with the Hero’s Journey concept.
Step 5 – Guide 8 Strategic Recovery Group Participants through their recovery transformation arcs on weekly 90-minute Zoom immersion experiences – where they can more rapidly rewire their alcohol neuro-associations or keep them rewired, and where they can build or sustain the life of their dreams with expert guidance, customized strategies for each person, group support, group accountability, ongoing, for as long as the person likes.
Where intelligent, deep thinkers, deep feelers, spiritual seekers, Obligers, Questioners, and other Tendency Types, the trauma survivors, and the neurologically divergent who want freedom AND mastery in the five dimensions of recovery can mastermind as a sacred power circle and help each other to live up to their highest potential in this life during these crazy times.

Appendix
1. Sensitivity to Quality
Sensitivity to quality in spirituality refers to the cultivated ability to discern the depth, purity, and authenticity of spiritual experiences, teachings, and energies, rather than merely measuring their intensity or volume. This pursuit requires refining your “inner compass” to prioritize genuine transformation over flashy or overwhelming phenomena.
Specific ways this awareness manifests include:
- Discernment Over Excitement: Authentic spiritual depth often brings a quiet sense of clarity, peace, and long-term fruitfulness. In contrast, a focus on mere intensity seeks fleeting emotional highs or sensational experiences.
- Vibrational Attunement: Being sensitive to quality means recognizing how certain environments, relationships, or practices affect your overall well-being and alignment. High-quality spaces foster compassion, introspection, and connection.
- Empathy and Connection: High spiritual sensitivity naturally enhances the capacity for empathy. This means having a quality response to the suffering of others—moving from feeling overwhelmed by the world’s pain to offering compassionate, grounded action.

2. The Dystopian Shift
Here is some info on my idea of the dystopian shift. Something feels off—is it just imaginary? Something has shifted. In the economy, in mental health, and in the culture.
But more importantly, In the field itself.
People are more reactive, exhausted, overstimulated, and emotionally thin. Public spaces feel heavier. Conversations feel flatter. The nervous system feels like it’s carrying more input than it was ever designed to process.
And if you’re sensitive, empathic, in recovery, or doing deep inner work… you’re probably feeling it first.
Here are the 5 Forces of the Dystopian Shift:
- Economic Pressure and the Biology of Survival Mode
- The Alcohol & Other Drug Landscape
- Mental Illness & A Nervous System Under Siege
- Digital Addiction & Dopamine Hijacking at Scale
- Social Breakdown & Loss of Emotional Regulation

3. The Fourth Turning (the phase we are in currently going through)
The Fourth Turning by Neil Howe and William Strauss proposes that American history moves in repeating 80-100 year cycles, or “saecula,” each composed of four “turnings” (High, Awakening, Unraveling, Crisis) that correspond to the seasons and generational archetypes. The book argues that the U.S. entered a “Fourth Turning” (a Crisis) around the late 20th century, a period of destruction and rebuilding similar to the Great Depression and WWII, with significant roles for the Baby Boomer, Generation X, and Millennial generations.
Key Concepts
- The Saeculum: A complete cycle of history, roughly 80-100 years, or the length of a long human life.
- The Four Turnings:
- First Turning (High): A period of strong institutions and conformity after a crisis (e.g., post-WWII era).
- Second Turning (Awakening): A time of spiritual and cultural rebellion against the established order (e.g., 1960s counterculture).
- Third Turning (Unraveling): A period of weakening institutions and rising individualism (e.g., 1980s-1990s).
- Fourth Turning (Crisis): A time of societal upheaval, institutional destruction, and rebuilding, often involving war or revolution (e.g., the Great Depression and WWII).
- Generational Archetypes: Each turning produces a specific generational personality, with the authors identifying roles for Boomers, Gen X, and Millennials in the current crisis.

4. The Recovery Hero’s Journey
The Recovery Journey is also your Hero’s Journey. Joseph Campbell spent his life studying myths, legends, spiritual stories, heroic narratives, religious symbols, and ancient wisdom traditions from cultures all over the world. But underneath the surface differences, Campbell noticed something astonishing. The same pattern kept appearing. Again and again.
- The hero begins in the ordinary world
- Something disrupts that world
- A call arrives
- The hero leaves the familiar
- The hero enters the unknown
- The hero faces trials
- The hero meets helpers
- The hero confronts danger
- The hero descends into the abyss
- The hero is transformed by the ordeal
And then… if the journey is completed…the hero returns. But the hero does not return empty-handed. The hero returns with a gift. A boon. A blessing. A medicine. A wisdom that can help the village.
Now, on the surface, this sounds like storytelling and mythology. It sounds like Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Harry Potter, The Odyssey, The Lion King, and every great adventure story we have ever loved.
But at a deeper level, this is not just a story structure. It is a map of psychological change, It is spiritual transformation, what happens when life pulls us out of who we thought we were, forces us into unknown territory, strips away the false self, initiates us through pain, humility, truth, and courage, and then invites us to return as someone new.
That is why this map belongs in recovery. Because real recovery is not simply stopping a substance, not managing a behavior, and not simply counting days. Real recovery is the pattern of leaving who you were, enduring what changes you, and returning as someone the old life can no longer contain.
And Campbell’s map gives us three great movements:
- Separation
- Initiation
- Return
These three movements are everywhere in myth. And they are everywhere in recovery.
The 7 Stages of the Recovery Hero’s Journey:
- The Ordinary Wound
- The False Medicine
- The Golden Chain
- The Abyss
- The Sacred Rebuild
- The Awakening
- The Return with Medicine
The Dragon, the Treasure, and the Boon:
Every hero faces a dragon. In recovery, the dragon is not only the substance. It is the entire inner and outer system that made the substance feel necessary.
The Dragon may be:
- Shame, trauma, fear, grief, lonlieness, and resentment
- Biochemical depletion and nervous system dysregulation
- Emotional suppression and self-hatred
- Spiritual disconnection and trigger environments
The Treasure may be:
- Sensitivity, intuition, creativity, and intelligence
- Compassion, leadership, and spiritual hunger
- Capacity for deep feeling and desire for truth
- Longing for freedom, love, meaning, and wholeness
The addiction was wrapped around a gift: a distorted, buried, no instruction manual included gift – but still a gift.
The boon is the gift transformed into medicine: sensitivity becomes compassion, pain becomes discernment, craving becomes self-knowledge, shame becomes humility, survival becomes strength, and recovery becomes service.
The highest form of meaning is not merely understanding your suffering. It’s transforming your suffering into contribution.
